What the heck is BuildWitt Connect?

After traveling the Dirt World for over six years and meeting with thousands of industry leaders, one feeling many share is loneliness.

Huh?

Due to the hyper-competitive nature of the Dirt World, everyone is quite reserved. This results in many leaders feeling as though they’re on an island. And this isn’t only with local contractors—I’ve seen leaders at multi-billion dollar companies feel the same way.

I may have started BuildWitt with only a camera, but today, we’ve found ourselves uniquely positioned as a middle ground—the junction between contractors, those supporting contractors, and the next generation.

We created the Ariat Dirt World Summit to bring the Dirt World together to focus exclusively on leadership and workforce development, but that’s only a once-a-year three-day event. What about the other 362 days?

Vlog

When I asked Westrac Caterpillar if they had anything fun for us during our visit to Perth, they asked, "Fancy an operator challenge?" I'm far from an operator, but you bet I always fancy an operator challenge. Westrac invited Jake from Deep West Group, who won their most recent Global Operator Challenge in Western Australia, to compete and set up three challenges for us. How hard could it be to shoot a basket with a skid steer? It turns out it's trickier than it looks!
