Founded in 2018 with a higher purpose.
It started with a kid who loved dirt.
Is that a kid having his sixth birthday party at the local Caterpillar dealership? Why, yes, it is. Despite having no family or exposure to the Dirt World as a child, Aaron was addicted to dirt and the machines that move it. From drooling over construction sites on his way to school to aimlessly digging holes in the backyard, it's no surprise that this dirt nerd never grew up and left the sandbox. We think growing up is overrated anyway.

Since his parents told him to grow up and be somebody, Aaron got a job as a laborer on a pipe crew at 18. As he went to engineering school (which he hated), he worked at five different heavy construction companies from local to multi-billion dollar firms. He planned to experience as much Dirt World as possible before starting his own construction company, but we now know how well that went.
The kid started telling dirt stories and it caught on.
Beginning on Instagram, Aaron started telling stories about his experiences in the Dirt World. After realizing there was a significant lack of quality storytelling in such a dynamic industry, he quit his day job to tell stories full time. After a few years of doing it, it's grown to be a bit bigger than a kid running around the world with a camera.
We’ve assembled a team of crazy talented dirt enthusiasts who believe in and live our values everyday.
What we stand for as people and as a company.
Develop 3X people.
We believe great people can not only outperform ordinary people but can create 3X more value. These are the humans we aim to hire and develop.
Beyond the massive increase in value for our Partners, we can, in theory, pay everyone 2X while creating a 3X return.
When hiring, it's either a hell yes or a no. If they're not a 3X person or don't have the potential to be through experience and training, we can't afford to make the hire, even if our need to fill the position is high.
It's entirely our responsibility to attract and develop all the 3X people we need. We must have a strong pipeline of 3X people at all times.
Accountability is key. If someone isn't living up to the team's 3X standards, we must hold them accountable, offer guidance and training, and adjust further when needed.
Excellence is a habit.
How we do anything is how we do everything. We take pride in the smallest details of everything we do. Excellence in the details creates excellence overall.
Hold yourself accountable. Create a total intolerance for shortcuts. Regularly practice excellence in all aspects of your life.

Default to transparency. Whether it’s communicating frustrations with another BuildWitt team member or admitting a mistake to a Partner, being honest and transparent not only wins but is the only path we walk.
We hold no secrets as a business and communicate everything we do with our team. By sharing information, we empower our people.
We must practice and lead with transparency before we expect others to do so. Don’t expect change if you haven’t been transparent with those around you.
Do what’s right.
Do what’s right, no matter the cost. Living with integrity will not only earn you the respect of others but will build your self-confidence to new levels.

We expect everyone, no matter their position, to make and own decisions. Failure to act is worse than failure itself. If you do what you believe is right, we will support you, no matter the outcome.
Empowering everyone to act allows us to operate faster and gives everyone the ability to control their destinies. There are no excuses when you’re the one making the decisions.

Be a friend.
Be a friend to those around you, whether they’re on the BuildWitt team, our Partners, or others in your life. Go above and beyond to love, care for, celebrate, and be there for people in the most genuine way possible, with nothing expected in return.

Stay humble or be humbled.
Maintain a strong sense of humility, especially while achieving the highest levels of success. We aren’t the ones changing the dirt world -- our Partners are. Everything we do is in service to our partners, each other, and the Dirt World. While ego is a must, we don’t tolerate arrogance.

Be the example.
First and foremost, this value speaks to our safety program. We strive to be the example of how to work, act, and think safely on every project we step foot on. Keep in mind -- everyone is ALWAYS watching, so we are ALWAYS the example to follow. We must LIVE safely at all times, not only when it’s seemingly expected.
Beyond safety, being the example extends to how we operate as a business, how we train, our culture, our communication, and any other aspect of BuildWitt. People are always watching.

Aim for simple. Complexity is the enemy. We serve industries that value simplicity. We can only meet our Partners where they are if we mirror their simple way of doing business. Simplify wherever and whenever possible.
